Barbara was a person who lived every day to the fullest and each day was made into an event, usually with her friends getting up to shenanigans. She loved her family and always looked forward to their visits from far and wide.
In 1951 Barbara joined the Royal Montreal Regiment CWAC and gained the rank of Corporal. She started her working career with Sun Life, and retired from the CIBC in 1993 with over 30 years of service. In her retirement years she became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and became Worthy Grand Matron of Vermont in 2002 to 2003 and a member of the Maple Leaf Chapter N0.2 of Stanbridge, East, Quebec. Was president of the United Church Women (UCW) in Lacolle, Quebec and kept active with her husband golfing and curling. She loved crafting especially with her grandchildren and great grand children decorating eggs and loved to knit and make mittens and scarves for everyone including Christmas stockings for the family.
The family would like to extend a special appreciation to the CLSC and the palliative care team of Dr. Tremblay, Dr. Chartier, Adrianne, Rachel and Linda. They went above and beyond and showed professionalism and compassion with each visit. Thank you to the staff at Chartwell Legend that made our Mother’s home there feel like home.
