Douglas Hadley 1927-2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Hadley on August 15, in his 93rd year. A proud survivor of the Great Depression, he worked as a teacher at Royal George School, principal of St. Lambert Elementary and Director of Adult Education. He retired to his hometown of Hemmingford and his passions of farming and gardening. Kind and good hearted, Doug was a faithful supporter of his church and many charities. Predeceased by his loving wife, Marion, he will be deeply missed by his children, William, Jo-Anne and James, and his grandchildren, Julie and Alex. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Habilitas MAB-Mackay Foundation. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Our condolences

I am wishing you strength in adjusting to the loss of your father, Jo-Ann. I probably told you that I was at Royal George with him in the very early sixties. Jennifer F. had told me just recently that you were helping care for him.

Our condolences

Sad to hear of the passing of Douglas. I remember when I was a kid, I thought how handsome he was, and he never lost those good looks. I had the chance to chat with Douglas at Gladys 80th Birthday Party, of course, that was a few years ago, but it is a wonderful memory I have of him. So happy that I took the time to go over and say hello and have a chat. Rest in Peace

Sad to hear about the passing of Mr. Hadley, one of the “good guys” at the old Royal George school in Greenfield Park. He was always a true gentleman, always had an open ear & was always willing to help out the students whenever he could. It was just a given to show respect to this great teacher as this was exactly what he gave back to
everyone he associated with. A fair & honest man. Rest is Peace my friend.
