It is with heavy hearts and profound love that the Fortin family shares the sorrowful news of the passing of their cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Phyllis Fortin (née Hébert) of Camping Canne de Bois, Hemmingford. She left us on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the age of 89.
Phyllis will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Jeffrey Fortin; Cheryl Henderson Fortin (former daughter-in-law); her grandchildren, Phillip Fortin (Kevin Schaeken), Sharyn Fortin, Nathan Fortin; and her great-grandson, Wyatt Orrell-Fortin. She also leaves behind countless relatives and friends who were blessed to know her warmth and kindness.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Réal Fortin, as well as her two sons, Alan and Bryan Fortin.
A gentle spirit, Phyllis will always be remembered for her radiant smile, sweet giggle, captivating blue eyes, and the loving words she shared with those around her. Her unwavering devotion to the many animals she cared for during her 36 years at the campground was a testament to her compassionate nature.
We invite everyone to join us for a Celebration of Life at her chalet (#3) at the campground on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, as we gather to share memories and honour her legacy.
In honouring her wishes, a private family burial service will be held at a later date.
