Raymond L. Cookman 1940-2019

Raymond L. Cookman, 79, of Champlain Ave, Hemmingford, Quebec, died Saturday March 23, at the Valleyfield Hospital.
He was born in Ormstown on March 4, 1940, the oldest son of Lynwood and Doris( Holbrook) Cookman. He attended elementary school in Hemmingford and Mooers High School where he met his future wife, Gloria (Gordon) Cookman, of Mooers. Raymond has been an active fireman for 57 years in the Hemmingford Fire Department. He was a long time member of the Mooers Wesleyan Church in Mooers, New York.
Raymond was employed for over 30 years for Pratt & Whitney in Longueuil. He also drove buses in Hemmingford. He wil be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Gloria (Gordon) Cookman, beloved daughter Cara Lynn Cookman, brother William Cookman as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive the condolences on March, 30th 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at :

Funeral will be held at the Wesleyan Church in Mooers at 2:00 p.m..

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Raymond to one of your favorite charity.

I grew up with Raymond and our families spent many happy times together. He was very involved with his community, a loving husband and a great dad to Cara. John always enjoyed his conversations with Raymond talking about cars and motorcycles.
