It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad Reay Ellerton on March 5th, 2025 peacefully in the comfort of his home at the age of 86.
Reay was born in Plattsburgh, NY on May 9, 1938 and lived his entire life in Hemmingford. He was raised on a century old farm in Hallerton with his parents, the late Vernon Ellerton & Irene Rutherford and two older brothers, the late Gerald Ellerton & Ronald Ellerton. His early years involved working on the family farm, picking vegetables at Hardy Farms and venturing out west. In 1959, he married his first wife, Joyce Gray, mother of his 5 children. Following the death of Joyce, he remarried Frances Dauphinais in 1983.
His career of sales began at an early age initially delivering bread in the local area to operating a life insurance business for 43 years. His outgoing personality and personable character contributed to the success in his professional life. He was an excellent listener and always in a cheerful mood. In recent years, he enjoyed spending quality time with his children, regular coffee get-togethers as well as exploring the Hemmingford countryside.
He will be dearly missed by his children Rick (Mary), Judy (John), Randy (Teri), Janice (Danny) and Robert (Genevieve), his 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, family and friends.

Visitation hours: Saturday, March 29th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm. A private burial will take place at a later date.
