Karl Wolker 1944-2024

In Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, on February 3, 2024, at the age of 79, Karl Joseph Wolker passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. Karl is survived by his wife, Susan Barbe; 5 children, Hannah, Rodney (Carine), Heidi, Ruth (Stan) and Kristall-Rose; 16 grandchildren, his great-granddaughter, his brothers Alois (Maria) and Fred (Gerda) and other family members and friends.

Karl moved to Canada from Germany in his 20s in search of an adventure. He settled on a farm in the Richelieu region which he loved. He continued farming and working the land throughout his life and was one of the first farmers to grow ginseng in Quebec. Karl’s passion for tending the land and gratitude for harvests were inspirational. His personality and smile lit up a room. He preferred to say a joke than to have a serious conversation. Karl will be missed by many.

Sympathy

Toutes nos condoléances

To the Wolker family.
Your Father was the salt of the earth, a force to be reckoned with and cut from a different cloth.
A contagious smile and laughter that would fill any room he entered. I have been blessed to have known your Dad since I was a child. The stories he told still resign with me to this day and will never die as I tell them to my children.
Wishing I could join you all in celebrating your Fathers life. I will ask Mom Emma to give you all an extra hug from me.
With my deepest sorrow for your loss.
Julie and family
