Iberville, QC – Réal Quintin, 43, passed away from leptomeningeal disease in the early morning on February 22, 2023. Born in Bristol, Tennessee in 1979, Réal was a retired US Air Force veteran. A Load Toad for life, he proudly served for 12 years, including multiple overseas deployments. He was a loving father, a close friend to many, and a one-of-a-kind baby brother. A quick-witted master tinkerer, recipe tweaker, roast master, and meme curator. Réal was honest to a fault and would rush to help those he cared for at the drop of a hat.
He never let his condition or illness define or discourage him. He accepted it for what it was and did everything (including many things his doctors told him not to do) to move on with his life and make the most out of the time he had left.
He was a great man and a kind human. Being a father to Rafaël and Sammy was his everything. While he touched the lives of many, he will be cherished and terribly missed by those he was closest to: his sons Rafaël and Sammy, his wife Rebekka; his brothers – Steve, Richard, and Joe (the bfam); The Frick Family who welcomed him as one of their own – Stefan, Walle, Toby, and Oliver; and his second mother Ginette.
Bye brother. We loved you to bits. You will always be in our thoughts.
There will be an intimate memorial service later in the spring.
