Webb Stanley 1952-2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of William Webb Stanley of Hemmingford, Quebec on September 30, 2017 at the age of 65. Cherished husband, confidante and best friend of Linda Keddy. The son of the late William Dobson Stanley and the late Anne Florence Tyrrell (McGovern) Stanley. He is also survived by his sister Leslie Anne Stanley of Stettler, AB. Much loved stepfather of Sara Greenwood (Cam Pipes) of Vancouver BC and David Greenwood of Edmonton, AB. He was a loved son-in-law of Margaret (Edwards) & Edwin Keddy (deceased). He leaves to mourn his brother-in-law Richard Keddy (Marie Jock), sister-in-law Karen Keddy (Tom Chambers) and nephews Jesse Chambers (Catherine Rose), Martin Chambers, niece Angela Silver (Adam Silver) and great uncle to Eleanor Silver as well as several dear cousins in the USA and Canada. Webb was born in Montreal and relocated to Hemmingford in 1987. He happily retired in 2012 and in addition to the many business relationships he formed in Montreal, he made numerous friends in and around Hemmingford. He was a longtime member of the Hemmingford Golf & Country Club and enjoyed his retirement honing his skills on the course and meeting up with friends at the 19th hole.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 am. at the Hemmingford Golf Club.
Visitation with the family beginning at 10:00 am.
A light lunch will follow.

Our condolences

Hello. I’m sorry for your loss. I’m wondering if your Webb Stanley could be the person I knew in primary school in Ville St Laurent, Montreal. Webb and I were friends – he even gave me his tie pin to show we were going steady – but lost touch over the years. The primary school was Miller School, followed by St Laurent High School.

Our condolences

Linda and family:

I knew Webb during his time at CPFP/Avenor (I was with CIRI – the property insurance provider). We had a wonderful business relationship, but we also shared many good times together (golfing, fine dining, conferences).

He was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed.

My prayers are with you all for peace at this difficult time.

Memories of Webb will be with me forever. I will always cherish the times I was lucky enough to be with him. There was a lot of teasing and fun to be had when we visited Montreal. My heart goes out to you both during a very difficult time. Love always, Jo Ann
