Roy Holmes passed away peacefully on January 3, 2020, at his home in Hemmingford, Quebec. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lila Costello Holmes; his sons, Jim (Carole Kaufman), John (Carol Bujeau), Gerry (Aline Dauphinais) and Joe (Nancy Woolmer); grandchildren, Patrick and Sean Holmes, Jordan and Kayla Holmes, Richard and Johanne Dauphinais, Megan and Christian Holmes; great grandchildren, Donna, Billy and Marilyn Dauphinais; sister-in-law, Catherine Tobin; nephews, Michael (Janet), Patrick (Tamara) Tobin, niece late Mary-Catherine (Floyd Bourne) Tobin, Matthew (Sarah) Copeland, and niece, Elizabeth Holmes.
Roy was pre-deceased by his brothers, John and Stewart and his sister, Geraldine. Born in Sainte-Agnes-de-Dundee to Lawrence Holmes and Mary Rose (Mamie) O’Leary, Roy moved to Hemmingford in 1951. He served Canada loyally as a Canada Customs officer for almost 40 years and was known throughout Huntingdon county as the friendly delivery man for the Little Denmark Flower Shop. Roy will be missed by all, including their loyal cat, Maggie.
A memorial mass for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 11 2020 at St. Romain Catholic Church in Hemmingford at 11:00. The family will be present at the church from 10:00-11:00 to greet well-wishers.

Roy est prédécédé par ses frères John et Stewart, également par sa soeur Geraldine. Né à Sainte-Agnes-de-Dundee, fils de Lawrence Holmes et de Mary Rose (Mamie) O’Leary, Roy est devenu résident de Hemmingford en 1951. Il a servi le Canada en tant qu’officier de Douanes Canada près de 40 ans et il était bien connu dans la ville de Huntingdon comme le sympathique livreur du Fleuriste Little Denmark. Sa présence manquera à tous, incluant sa chatte Maggie.
La famille recevra vos témoignages de sympathie en l’église St-Romain de Hemmingford, le samedi 11 janvier 2020 dès 10h suivis des funérailles à 11h
